my vision of this forum

people want their record to sound loud like some girls want breast implants or some guys buy loud motorcycles

people want their record to have dynamic because they listen to music with their critical mind, not their soul

people want their mix to sound like a shiny brand new mass marketed product, like an iPhone, or like a girl who spends hours in the bathroom perfecting her make up

people want rough mixes to make you believe their have a raw and uncompromising personality

people edit their tracks like crazy because they're insecure, and don't want other people to think they're vulnerable or weak

people record with only two mics and a tape machine with no edits, thinking therefore there's no reason they're not making a masterpiece

people believe some things sound "better" than others, especially expensive things, while it's like saying red is better than blue.

people believe records were better in the old days, like they've been listening to the thousand records released each day.

people think other people are so dumb that a single loop will keep them entertained for 4 minutes

people think you have to play really fast and use complex chords to be a real musician while you're just confusing music and sport

people think "working hard" is making better music, which is a way of thinking that has produced thousands of boring records

people think this post is negative but it's not, i'm just encouraging you all to be YOURSELF, not what other people think or want from you.

forget everything, bypass your conscience, our conscience is just leading us in the wrong path, and making us do boring music, in a boring world.

Some people over think their forum posts

Some people think they're being really deep and profound when they're not.

@OP: what concrete, practical alternatives are YOU proposing to the examples you cited (beyond pseudo-philosophical generalizations)?
I smell a troll, but I'm gonna play ball for a while.

I thought the music industry had pretty much done that already ...

What was the question?

AKA 'trust your instincts' (if we were to 'keep things simple').

just make music as if you were the last person on earth, forget about your baggages, forget about what the critics / your friends / your family would think of what you're doing, forget about everything you've learned, forget about everything that's been done before, and fully embrace the mystery of life, instead of foolishly trying to solve it.
