Way to go. You have an awesome studio, I really like the vibe. I see some Joemeek on the racks as well, I like these very much too.

In music production, engineering, or anything else, there are those who cannot work with the best of the best, also those who are never happy... and there are those who will work with what they can afford, make the most of it, being grateful, and satisfied with not much. Your desk to me is a high end desk, for the guy next door, it might me a piece of crap... who cares? Only the guy next door.
The gifted, will use anything.

i.e; there are guys who play guitar or bass via cheap Squier made in "wherever-it-does-not sound-so glamourous"... YET, they will smoke anyone when it comes to groove, timing, creativity and what not... and they are broke, and they will never "make it", many of them have a "not-so-glamorous-day/night-job", and/or a family to feed - yet, they are VERY happy and enjoy life.

Then you have the opposite... I have seen them, and I see them again. And again...

Last night, I visited someone, who is selling everything (gear wise). He is confused. He is going to buy again... I keep seeing them. I try to help them, but most of them are stubborn.
True story. It was last night, and it was starting to snow heavy....

It's GS that killed them.

Any time anybody asked for adviceregarding buying TL Audio gear, the answer was always the same. There are better alternatives available.

Sad news though, one less supplier of gear.

Maybe Behringer will add another company to their stable and start making tube based products without orange LEDs?

i just think its a shame to loose this company.
Tony Larkin made a great contribution.
the whole valve revival was in part due to him and his vision.
sadly the best products were simply beyond the pockets of most people and the more affordable ranges lacked appeal.
but the first few products were real gems and heard on many a hit record for sure.

I have used it for a couple years now.It is great,I don't use the tube though. There are other posts on here about it.
All of the ebony line is probably good stuff, but people did not take to it because a lot of their previous gear had a bad rep.

Good lord, Fletch. Get a ladder and get over yourself. Who you callin' punk?

Vocalign is great for working against video, Reason is great for replacing click tracks with a groove to play to, Drumagog is great for making a snare track just to feed reverb cleanly, and Melodyne is great for the occasional pitchy note long after the talent has returned back to their own land. They are tools, and there really isn't a direct hardware equivalent. That was my point, in response to a comment that plugins are screwing us all. Nice dig, tho.

I still have a 4channel Ivory series preamp in my rack. Got it on ebay for $300 and I have found it useful on toms, certain guitar tones and vocals. I changed out the tubes and liked it even more. I've never had a problem with it or its funntionality. They do an excellent job at create budget tube equipment that sounds more than usable. I would even put it in the pro category. No complaints her.

Excellent. For dynamic mics, guitar cabinet, snare etc..., awesome.
Of course, can be used creatively to add a touch, or a lot of what not

1st VTC in Norway

Sad to see that TL Audio is out of business.
I have had the VTC 32 channel mixer for 9 years now, and I like it a lot. Nice preamps, a very musical eq, nice and simple layout, no maintenance costs yet. Everything sounds good through it. I have got outboard preamps as well, of well known brands, but end up most of the time using the mixer's own. The TL Audio people and the Norwegian importer at the time of purchase have all been friendly and serviceminded. And best of all, the productions made on it attract new customers all the time who want that pleasant warm sound, and this has put food on the table for me and my family for years.
And nobtwiddler Paul: I would feel very much at home in your studio. What an inviting and nice place!
All the best,
Gunnar Tønnesen

TL seemed to be one of GS's pet hates, regularly pissed upon by people who most probably never laid hands on a unit. I was planning to buy a twelve channels M1-f in October.
Very, very sad.
