If i die what's gonna happen with my gear??

Hi GS, have you though what´s gonna happen with all you gear if you die??
In my case, just me like the audio in my family so!!
I asume that my familly is going to sell it, as a heritage, haha...
All the gear that you could get in your life will be gon in a sell, is sad to think of it .
So thats why we have to enjoy every moment that we have in our studios, remember that one day some one is going to sell all your stuff and enjoy that money.
Is sad but real................
So when i´m gonna die?
Do i have to sell every thing before i die and enjoy myselfe that money??
Naaaaaa
If i come back as a ghost where i'm gonna record my audio??
What you think??

Of all the gear related things you can stress on - why that one? The wonderful thing about dying is that your need / ability to give a flying rat's ass about that kind of shit has come to an end!!

Peace

I'm having mine entombed with me, along with all my wives and treasure, so we can make sweet music in the afterlife.

Oh, I fully intend to hover o'er it, ghostly, casting an eerie shadow, suggesting cross-fades and EQ adjustments... I mean, how could you NOT???

solution - put my name in your will so that someone who will love and take care of that gear gets it

No: put my name in your will and I'll promise to distribute it to starving orphans with musical talent and not keep all the good bits for myself. Probably.

Burn all in a nice Viking ceremony, so you can continue enjoying it in Valhalla.

Family with previous sell instructions and/or charity (the money not the gear).

I solved that: I got somebody I trust who's got the keys and is way younger than me, he can record at my place all the time and when I'm gone he will keep on.

My girlfriend would put the equipment on a bonfire and turn the room into a big fat walk in wardrobe. Following this action, I intend to do alot of rolling in my grave

I´m gonna start a Psychic Medium studio to comunicate with the dead musicians, this way when i be dead, this will be my way to do it. And also i´ll be able to reach any one dead for recordings, kind of oracle of music.
The dead people isn´t gone, they just waiting for our new ideas to be able to come back again.

OK, I'll be the first to say it: Phantom power.

I would imagine that at least some of the stuff that we see on the used market comes from estate sales. I'm sure the folks in that business see more used sets of golf clubs and exercise equipment than high end audio gear, but I bet it happens, then it eventually gets sold down the line to folks who sell it to us.

I honestly don`t care. When I go, I told my wife to marry some rich guy, wear a red dress to the funeral and bring her boyfriend. No kidding.

I'll write a will saying to give it all to that guy that started the thread about how you can have a pro sound for under 1 grand. Maybe then he'll post some tracks.

Just make sure that whoever you leave gear to knows its value so they don't sell it for a fraction of what it's actually worth.

I'll probably die alone, and seeing as I'm unable to keep relationships with the female side of the spectrum for whatever reasons we could skip over for the time being, no children will be getting any gear. all my friends are getting nothing, and the one i would hand all of it over to is older then me by a few and will probably die first unfortunately.

my family would sell it. my roommates would sell it.

I'm opting for entomb or an intern. nah, screw that noise were going entombment, you little ungrateful intern bastards don't deserve a treasure trove of behringer at the end of a rainbow! ha!

how much do they charge for underground bombshelters these days?

The treasure is going to end in some other hands, I have purchased myself equipment from a deceased person and wasn´t not very pleasant, someday someone will buy our gear and will continue using it. So be gentle with the devices that will use the Future Generations.
Or you can just explode the gear...

I believe there is a compressor for sale on ebay right now that actually prevents you from dying. Talk about sustain...

I naturally assume all my gear will end up in a museum dedicated to awesomeness.

If i die what's gonna happen with my gear??

I just want to say... that's my favorite thread title here in a very long time.

Anyone who's spent years lovingly building up a gear kit probably knows exactly where he's coming from... that deep, existential twinge. And if gets even worse if you mix in an instrument collection.
