I need a new one, I'm done with my old one. Who do you recommend?

Price/Service and communications.100%(one exchange,a year later!).
Had multiple dealings with them.(They have always answered the phone promptly) and dealt with things quickly.

If I want customer service/Help/Advice and don't mind paying a little more , Mercenary Audio .

If I know what I want , EBAY has cheapest prices you can get .

I have been dealing with Sweetwater since 1996. A year ago I tried buying a guitar from them and I was hesitant but it was set up and ready to play right out of the box. Amazing...

However, now that I`m looking for more boutique 500 series modules, it looks like I may have to start shopping elsewhere.

There are so many good ones in my opinion.

Sweetwater has excellent service and competitive pricing plus adds a longer warranty I'm thinking.

Other good ones are MF, FEA, Zen, B&H, AudioMidi, Vintage King, & many more.

Plus don't forget about Hello Music. Very unique idea Hellomusic.com

The ones who don't pimp their gear every chance they get on GS.

Great experiences with Vintage King, including advocating for me with a speaker manufacturer over warranty arguments.

Outstanding service from them!

My rep at Sweetwater (Jason Koons, ext. 1389) has given me the best service of anyone I've ever dealt with. No pressure and no B.S., if he doesn't have an answer for my questions he finds out and gets back to me FAST. I've never been disappointed.

Vintage King - recently bought monitors (Neumann KH120) from them. Excellent service, was given a discount just for talking to the guy on the phone, arrived quickly, had follow up emails to make sure they were working properly. Outstanding transaction, will purchase from them again.

I've had good experiences with Mercenary, AMS (original easy payment plan) and Musician's Friend has some unreal sales here and there.

If I need to get something from a shop then DV247, purely because there's one near where I live.

On the internet, I always go to Thomann - great prices, great products, great customer service, and great delivery time even though I live in the UK and they're in Germany.

Although, most of the time I inevitably want something that isn't made any more and I have to go the eBay route...

I thought I'd throw Full Compass into the thread. Amazing place, great service, and if you call them up they lower price like crazy.

Any place BUT the big retailers.

And any gear, But the large manufacturers.

The little guys needs all the help they can get. You pay a little more but what you get in terms of service and the building of a relationship is very valuable. It is nice to be able to talk to the owners and designers of major equipment about stuff. Wes Dooley know a lot more than ribbon mics. Mark at BAE know a lot more than preamps and EQ etc etc

Dan Kennedy
Fletcher
Paul Wolf
John Peluso and many more..

Jake at Little Fish has been great to me. I started talking to him when I was forced to downsize my operation and was thinking about selling my Toft ATB and switching to a summing setup. Jake listened and was patient - and it was clear that he wanted to help me get the right solutions. There's no way I would have ended up buying a Phoenix Nicerizer without talking over the options with Jake. He's not afraid to call it as he sees it but his opinions are based on real world experience.

Studio Economik in Canada. Top notch cust service. Vintage King was very helpful with inquiries, but have not actually bought from them. I would based on my exp so far. These both have super gearslutty websites with used and demo stuff as well.
If I can buy direct from a manufacturer, I will. Kel Audio has been great.

what they said.

Super experiences with Warren @ ZenPro, great service, a real can-do guy!!!
Also good experience with Sweetwater, Chris Lewis, Extn 1264
Wonderful experience with Vintage King too, Darrin Fendley is your guy!!!

The one time i've tried to deal with Mercenary Audio, they blew me off and never answered several mails, which I found odd. Maybe just a bad day, because I've heard good things about them too.

YMMV,

Best,

Farhad

Purchased some mics/outboard from SoundPure a few years ago and they were fast & responsive. Would recommend them.

Personally, Sweetwater irritated the hell out of me. I placed one order and their sales person would periodically leave me voicemails every few months afterwards. Highly obnoxious.

Theres a bunch of good places to buy from .

Personally the only place I will NOT buy from is "High Profile Audio" . I had a bad experience with Tony Belmont , I guess the owner ?? , Anyways I don't recommend buying from them .
