Can you identify this vocal effect?

Thats one of my favorite UK-Techno tracks and i wonder how this vocal effect was done?

i guess there is a pitch-shift, a compressor and Eq...but how did he get it to sound so cool and abstract?I really love it and want that or extremely similar sound!!

D.A.V.E. The Drummer - Hydraulix 6 (A.P. Remix) - YouTube the vocal starts at 1:46

can someone suggest a Plugin-chain? i am using Logic!!

Or maybe is Dave the Drummer on or Allen Palmer on this board and reading this? :D then please tell me!! (i highly doubt it , but its worth a try ^^)

thank you guyz!!

pitched up slightly - quick quack pitch wheel, or DAW pitch

Detuned - Dont Crack 3d

Chorus - any, but audio damage liquid is good

delay - very short maybe?

Reverb, to taste

I'm sure you can replicate this using a combination of these

Quick Quack pitch wheel & don't crack 3D are both plugins which you could use to get the desired effect:

Pitchwheel

DC DIMENSION 3D

You could try Waves H-Delay on send with a very short ecco box type delay as well. Also, for dance music "Aether" is a great reverb due to it's big but relatively unreal sound. Worth a try.

i tried the(comp,eq) pitch wheel thingy with chorus and a bit of distortion..+ reverb and delay

it goes into that direction but doesnt sound as "real"...

has someone else a clue how to do it?

neither henry or allan are on the board but its just slightly pitched up version from the original hydro release. the sample itself is from a lydia lunch spoken word rant and sounds pretty similiar minus the delay. have a listen to henry's track 'human animal' on fine audio and you can hear the full rant put to techno without pitching.

im assuming the washy artifacts are just youtube's personal brand of shit.

thanks for your answers!!!

you seem to be a good mixer!! your tracks really sound nice!!

At the moment i am also producing a UK techno style!! (at least i try ) but without acid lines...all my last tracks were completly acid style..now i try to produce a techno like this remix from A.P...with a huge reverb between the kicks!!!!(its really hard to get such a nice reverb...i sit on it since 2 days now..and it still doesnt sound so nice)...

do you have any good advice for mixing such techno tracks???

maybe if i have a bit of the track (now im just making all my sounds i need), i could send it over to you and you give me some advice???...i would really appreciate that, but i will need a couple of weeks until i have anything!!

ok thanks man, i also would be glad if i had your old tracks... but i also would love to hear your new track!!!how ever you want!!

cheers
