Make sure you use the Instrument in not the line in-- different impedance

Use input 1 or 2 on the front. Those are instrument level. You can plug your guitar directly into either.

If you are not plugged into a high impedance input designed specifically for plugging in guitar/bass directly, you will get a tone severely lacking in highs. It'll be very dull.

Most interfaces have a way of switching one or two of the line inputs into a high impedance by pressing a button, but some sense it automatically if you plug into one if the inputs on the front.

Either way you'll have to do some work to get the guitar sounding good, obviously a load of plugins, but reamping might be an option. Then again, if you have an amp, you may as well record through that in the first place.

Agreed, but only if you use a guitar with passive pickups - active pickups can be plugged directely into a line input.

Yeah - sometimes, depending on the guitar, this is a good option.
