Sony MXP 3036 value

Hey guys. Looking for a sanity check on numbers. What's a nice clean, analog metered Sony MXP 3036 worth. Loaded with all the single and double unbalanced line inputs, entry level transformer less mic press and the fixed Q EQ's? Wish it had a few parametric, variable Q EQ's, but it's pretty plain jane. It is pretty clean though.

Wanna be able to slam my 16 track 2" and mix out of the box a bit. If I'm gonna use all outboard pre's, well what's the point?

Thanks to all

I don't see as many of those. I hear so many comments about the stock pre's being too bland and almost Mackie-esque colorless. I'd love to put some API or Hardy press in, but don't want to grossly overpay on the stuff I would hop to replace. Make sense ?

Last one I saw sold for $6,000. So, $5000-$10,000. These console use a lot of one off parts that aren't available anymore so if one goes down you are out of luck. It wouldn't be my first choice for a console for the long haul.

Although they seem open architecture, Sony has always loved that Proprietary lifestyle. Even their cameras, PC's etc.

Post some pics and I'll be able to tell you more if it's mechanically sound....unfortunately eBay sort of dictates trends with prices...if you wait for the right buyer ect ect....

The Sony's are actually pretty nice sounding boards...ESPECIALLY if there are no transformers installed on the output. Those stock ones sound like ass.

It depends on if you want a clean sounding console or one with mojo. I love the EQ section of the Sony, with variable hi and lo pass filters and to be able switch the high band to a shelf it a nice feature.

Similarly price consoles by Neotek and D&R would be a good comparison, and all of their parts are readily available. Except maybe the meter drivers for D&Rs...

I also like the Soundcraft Sapphyre
