Event electronics 20/30 bass - YouTube

A 3 way? Are these the new flagship or have I missed something?

Unless you wanted to know how they got that rather annoying snare sound.

This is like Some Kind of Monster, if the members of Metallica had been sales goons.

It's just odd as there's press posters and yet can't find any info on them. I can't imagine them replacing the Opals...

There's certainly no mention of them on the products page at Event's site. Just the Opals, the new version of the 20/20bas, and their Studio EQ.*

*A 'room calibration' hardware/software package for the Opals -- which I'm frankly rather distressed to see from Event, since the notion of trying to correct a room by EQ alone is so incredibly wrong-headed. It's one thing for the losers at Harman International's JBL to market crap like that but... oh well, I guess companies respond to market demands -- but I'd rather see an education campaign about the importance of properly treating the room than some tinkertoy room EQ 'calibration' nonsense.

The engineer in the video isn't a sales goon by any means. Maybe I missed it but I didnt hear any sales pitch, just explaining the snare sound. John is a great engineer, please don't make comments about a guy if you don't know him.

Vid has been removed from youtube.

Wonder what that was all about? Never got to see it.

If you're talking about my comment about 'annoying snare sound,' I certainly meant no offense to the engineer. I should hope we all know that isolating one element from its mix context makes it all but impossible to judge; I was hoping to telegraph the levity implicit in my comment with the use of the green, laughing icon.

Actually my response was a reaction to Podgorny's post. Sorry for the confusion. I should have quoted it.
