Thread Starter | Duet with an outboard mixer Hi, folks So, a mixer-choosing-issue I'm setting up a tiny home studio and need to get a proper mixer. I'm using mostly synths and sometimes do some guitar, bass recording and whatever fits the idea. I also plan to use hardware effects and do some micing. So I don't need a heavy console (can't afford it anyway=), just a compact and as cheap as possible mixer for all my needs, though its always better to have some more unused channels in reserve, than worrying about the lack of it. I use Duet as an interface and it has only unbalanced i/o, so this is another reason why I'm asking. I'm thinking about Allen&heath ZED series, Mackie or Soundcraft, but need to be sure I'm on the right way squeezing as much as possible out of my modest budget. |

| The mackie 1640i is a good choice. 16x16 adda converters, 16 really solid preamps, otb summing and flexible routing all in one box. |

Thread Starter | Well, way too far from what I can afford for now really.. It would be cool to keep myself within 1000$, so I was wondering if that is possible in my situation. |
