Microkorg into 002R Midi advice

Hey, can anyone give me a quick tip on how to use a mikrokorg as a midi controller for the M-tron instrument (or any instrument) in Pro Tools when operating as a plugin? Synth/Midi isn't usually my thing...

I'm guessing I can plug it into the 002R via the MIDI ports and use it as a MIDI controller?

Help!
