Best UK Recording Equipment Shops?

Hey guys

Basically 2012 has been an awesome for me so far, but to cut a long story short i'm helping out in a new studio at my home city. The studio is due some funding soon and me and one of the other engineers need to create a solid list of things to recomend for the studio to buy.

there are lots of things we are looking for, but we want to try and hear before we buy as were looking for monitors, headphones, keyboards etc.

What City in the UK would you recomend? We had Bristol or London in mind but again im not really too sure whats there anymore, havn't been there in years!

this thread isnt me asking you what equipment i should buy, just what city has the best choice of shops to buy it!
