Thread Starter | Panning guitars w/close and distant miking
Hello all, I wanted to get some feedback on what you guys do in a pop/rock situation where you have multiple stacked guitar takes with various miking options. If I had a large room with one amp miked with a SM57 close to the cone and one MD421 at a distance of say 3-5ft (double tracked for stereo guitars) how would you pan this? I've had fairly good luck panning the distant mike toward the center channel but a little left while panning the close mike hard left and visa versa for the 2nd track on the right channel. Any thoughts? KYle |
