| Gear interested | Blue Robbie problem
Problem: My Blue Robbie started distorting and the signal would go in and out. Thought it might be the tube so I purchased a cheap tube to see if that solved the problem. Worked fine for a few hours and problem started again. I attributed the short tube life to the quality of the tube so I went ahead and purchased the proper tube. Installed tube and everything was fine for a few hours then the problem returned again. Any suggestions or insight before sending in for repair?

I had a similar problem with a Robbie a few years ago, and it ended up being a problem with the power supply; a couple of loose wires (on the chassis side, not the cable). I'd look there first...

| Gear interested | Thanks for the info. I took my Robbie to a friend who has prior experience in electronics. He found one of the wires from the power switch had a bad solder joint at the circuit board. Beats sending it in to Blue for who knows how much $ to repair a simple wire!
