Thread Starter | hardware-preamp/comp/EQ for shure sm-58
I'm looking at buying a shure sm58 for vocals. Could you guys pls advise what preamp you'd hook it up to? I want to get a fat warm sound and it should be suited for rap vocals as well as singing. So far i do not own any hardware comps/EQs, so a solution that includes these funtions as well would be appreciated. AD: Rme babyface price range: <2000$ thanks in advance! |

chameleon labs 7602 with tranny upgrade, fmr pbc-6a. (the 7602 can also be used as a hardware eq) That will leave around $500 for a decent mic. maybe an sm7 for rap. In the same price range I have heard of the blue baby bottle being popular with rappers( i think because of a video of Kanye with one in his home studio more than anything else) Last time I tracked a rapper I used a kel hm7u which is also in that budget |
