i know all you gearslutz like looking at pictures of gear etc... well we've been updating our 'How to record an EP' photo album on facebook and it's got some nice pictures in of drums and mics and amps etc https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...8078216&type=1 mainly... i wanted to talk about the bass guitar tone we got. it sounds brilliant, but the mic choice/position is quite odd. have a listen and then have a look at how it was recorded... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3331862/bass.mp3 (please bear in mind this clip has not been run through my UAD 1176 and then Neve 1084 plug-ins) i have to say i'm quite suprised that that particular mic and positioning could yield such results  |
