Soundcraft Ghost refurb

Just relaying a happy experience. I recently had Ike Zimbel in Toronto fix and upgrade my Ghost console. Good guy, did a top notch job and the sound is a lot more punchy and clear. I had been waffling for a few years now whether to sell it and go a whole different route, but I really like the board, the routing, EQ capabilities, and the now the sound is in another league too.

Does anyone know a reputable party that can hot-rod Ghosts in Europe? I'd really love something like the CAL mods done, but shipping a Ghost32 to the US and back is a bit impractical.

You don't have to send the entire console to CAL to get the upgrade. I did mine one or two modules at a time. It made the financial burden a non-issue, I didn't have to take the board out of service and I didn't have to ship a behemoth to Nashville - just a few circuit boards every month or so.

If you like woodworking you can have a little fun dressing the board up as well. I've replaced the plastic side panels with oak and it really gives the ghost the feel of a proper desk. This is a pic of the 24 ch. LE that I've got in the home studio - I'm also in the process of refurbing a 32 channel board with the computer that is probably going to wind up doing video post for a living. (The automation works really well with Sony XDCam, DVCam and Aja Ki-pros!)
