Thread Starter | lynx aurora 16 and dangerous d-box connection!
hey! i would like to know whats the best way to connect the lynx with the d-box? i did it thru 2 outpu channels so far but in that case i can only connect it to the "analog" section of the d-box. the "daw" section is only one XLr input that only works via digital output. cheers |

There's a few different ways you could do this. One way would be to run 8 channels out of the Aurora into the summing input of the Dbox. This could be done simply with one DB25 cable. Another way would be to run 2 analog channels out of the Aurora into the analog input of the Dbox, which is what you are already doing. A third way would be to use the digital outputs of the Aurora. You would need to get a DB25 to AES/EBU snake in order to do this. The outputs on the Aurora are all DB25 and the digital inputs to the Dbox are AES/EBU. I think the only advantage to this method would be that you would be using the Dbox D/A converters rather than the Aurora. May be better, but my guess it's a very close call. I have the same setup, by the way. I am running all I/O to a patchbay, but my outputs 1-2 on the Aurora are normalized to the analog inputs of the Dbox, and outputs 9-16 are normalized to the summing inputs of the Dbox. So I can sum if I want to, or just monitor the stereo mix through the analog in. Hope this helps. |
