Euphonix CS3000 system, components, price..

Hello all,

I have an apportunity to pick up a Euphonix CS3000 for very little and I mean very little $$ ! But of course there's a big "but", it's missing all other components: towers, computer, patchbay, cable snakes and ect... Not even a power supply, desk only. This is a 36 fader setup, looks very clean. I am in the process of hunting down last owner to see were and if it is still available but note sure I will have much luck.

There isn't all that much info on the net and I was wondering how complicated and expansive this project might become and if it is even worth spending time on... I have seen price info anywhere from 15k and up (US) for complete system.

Do you have any of the missing components for sale? Were could I look for it? Is it a technicly hard system to put togather once all components are present (although I hear ungoing maintenance is not an issue)?

Any help from users familiar with cs2000 & cs3000 will be greatly appreciated!

Merry Christmas all!!

I could be totally wrong but I thought that all the channel logic (preamp eqs) are in the racks and not in the board.

Yeah. All the signal handling is done by "The Cube" - no signal flows through the desk at all. Compression/gating is handled by MIDI controlled, optional rack units.

Any part of the system is a giant paperweight unless you have all of the components.

Edit: Also a word of warning: These are absolute buggers to repair if anything goes wrong, and there's very few people out there qualified to do the work - just one guy in all of Europe (not sure how you stand in The States). Often the components will appear fixed in the shop only to malfunction again once back in the desk. Common problems include dead preamps, distorting EQs and overheating dynamics units. Just a heads up.

You're getting a killer deal because you're not getting anything. I would get in touch with Ken Hirsch at Orphan Audio - Orphan Audio

He'll set you straight on exactly what you should spend if you want it, and what it will take to make it a fully functioning console.

Thank you for your reply's guys. I've seen Ken's name floating around and will definitely contact him.

I heard that some components are interchangeable for cs2000 and 3000, is that correct?

If any one has any euphonix CS3000 components laying around that are not in use and want to part with do let me know!

Looking for: tower, computer, power supply, cube, dynamics, cables, and ect..

You obviously bought the controller !

Best thing to do next would be to buy another complete system.
You'll also want to check your power status as a dual tower system chews a fair amount of power !

All you have is a proprietary control surface. You need *everything* else. Here's one at Sonic Circus (no affiliation) for $35k:

Euphonix CS3000 4T (96) frame loaded 56 faders, 3 ES108a Dynamics, 24x8 Cube, TT007 machine control (Used) - Sonic Circus 888-SC4-GEAR

Yes, I did pull the trigger yesterday and now have the console desk. So if anyone is interested to part with some of the components I have listed please PM me.

Are the tower modules interchangeable between cs2000 & cs3000?
