Anyone have music videos for music they've recorded at home?

I'm sure a lot of the professionals on these boards have credits for days but for those of you with home studios - are you guys doing videos too?

I could find myself getting as infatuated with video editing as I am with recording.

Below is a link to the first video we did for a project that I Executive Produced and recorded in my home studio - couldn't be more proud...

If you guys have videos on a budget, I'd love to see them. If so, let me know what you used to shoot and edit. This was shot on a 5D and edited in Final Cut 3. I think this is gonna be a new venture for me in 2012.

For those pissed that this is posted on a music forum - relax, this is about the music first. But there is obviously a marriage between the two. Plus, its nice to see a visual for someones contentand sometimes a more entertaining way to hear someone's stuff then just listening to an mp3 clip.

Peace.

This is one we just did. I didn't film or edit it, but it's something I really want to get into in 2012.

Thanks. Any constructive thoughts on it is appreciated!

I will have to check yours out when I get off my phone and onto the computer.

Did you like the guitars?

I quite like the sound I got. It's just a Fender HRD with the reverb and delay added in Logic. No comp or EQ.

Here's a video for a Beatles cover I did as a tribute to my late cousin. Shot on 5D, edited on Final Cut 7. Enjoy!

Loved the guitars - I'm listenning on a laptop only at the moment but sounded good.

Beaumaloe - what a cool tribute. Again, nothing like the classic B&W teamed with some good depth settings. Clean as could be.

What gear did you use? It turned out well, but it's hard to tell the end quality until it goes on full screen TV. I have seen some home music videos done at home that looks great as youTube clips but once it gets to larger screens, you start to see the quality difference between a well produced music video on big budget and the home version.

Camera was canon hfs20

I had a cheap lighting kit

Playback was on my ipad, which i put near me but out of shot.

I put a lavalier mic on the speaker of the ipad and connected it to the camera...for syncing.

I edited it in fcpx

Its shot in 1080 50i it looks good on big tv

All in all i am happy enough with it.

I have no budget for professional shoot.

It was a huge learning experience....and lots of work and time...but fun.

Cheers

Here's one featuring a song off our self produced album.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWRMq...e_gdata_player

I did it at my place with a Canon camera, 2 lights and edited in premiere pro.

Not a bad start. If you feel it go for it. Some people think of music in terms of imiages. Develop your own style, orignality. We see so many videos today in which a lot of overused techniques wind up in the mix.

Here is one I did a few years ago on a shoestring. The playback rate seems to be well below what I loaded. I liked the lyrics and feel of the song but i don't think my images were quite up to them.

I would love to be proficient with (and be able to afford) after effects and all the plugin goodies. I've seen some AMAZING amateur work by guys just using after effects and a consumer 1080p camera. The hip hop fast-cut vids are especially impressive by some of these young prodigies.

Cool thread , my girlfriend wants to get into doing videos for her music. Her music is all over the board but below is a solo acoustic song we recorded years ago and its ultra low budget. I plan on getting a better camera and lighting kit soon. My audio set up has com a long way but It does sound nice for what it is. She did all the video editing.

Audio : recorded 2006 live in old house with 2 akg c535eb into a m-audio 1814!

Video: ultra low budget Flip camera and imovie and the maine landscape.

This is a collaboration between Biolapse audio and Theidians Visuals. All of the visuals were created within After Effects CS6 and Cinema 4D. We are working on producing a live audio/visual experience with projectors and live camera feeds.

I'm rather embarrassed putting this less-than-zero-budget, relatively low effort vid up with all these fine vids -- some of which look as good -- or better -- as anything from a professional production house.

But I've never known a lot of shame when it comes to putting my meager efforts out in front of people so why start now...

[Swapped previous less-than-zero-budget for this one... Normally I hate 'video transistions' beyond the classic fade/crossfade/focus-fade etc but with this one I decided to cheeze out.]

Excuse the lame audio quality of the clip. 5D MkII / Final Cut

This was a freebie collaboration from 3 ultra budget home studios (ie 8 tracks, soundblasters, mboxes, you get the idea) - an interesting experiment in non-ideal tracking.... LOL. A thing for a friend that was kinda fun despite the conditions....
