There seems to be speculation everywhere about this, I think it's about time for a new model, anyone got any juice on the subject?

I big fat generous upgrade offer would be nice too!

Yep...and it's pricey. ($30-50k)

Rumored to be a collaboration with Euphionix.

MIghty expensive for a big remote control with no no more functionality than my mouse and keyboard.

Steinberg's Id, rumored to be a collaboration with euphonics, is out and it starts at $15K.

I'm sure it'll have more functionality then your mouse and keyboard.

I'm pretty sure there'll be more functionality as well.

I'm sick of hearing these "it's only a big mouse and keyboard" arguments because it's the case with all digital desks, the faders, buttons etc are only controlling a central computer, with no audio passing through them. In fact if you look at a price list for a Sony oxford and all its bits the control surface is by far the most expensive component of the system.

Maybe we'll see something at AES, I have the feeling something is in the wind.
