Thread Starter | SSL Console made from X-DESK with X-Panda and X-Racks
I've always wondered what these would look like put together, but I cannot find a photo of them anywhere, so I put them together in Sketchup.: |

Great visual mock up ! I must say though I love the sound of SSL , and the layout is quite good , I find that the whole colour scheme a little inconsistent. You have 3 colours going on , the silver white , Black face eq which looks great and the grey X-desk and X-panda . I like things to be a bit more uniform . But hey it works doesnt it

Yeah, I grabbed the photos off of the internet then applied them to the different models as textures. I actually placed the black eq modules on the photos before I did that. SSL advertises that you can combine the X-Series together, but they never show what it will look like. The Solid State Logic website has an article about how Troy Johnson connected the units to mix a song by Jennifer Lopez, but you can only make out the lower corner of the X-Rack in the photo: Solid State Logic | Music News | Troy 'Radio' Johnson uses SSL X-Desk for Jennifer Lopez hit |

I am digging it! I still have to buy the x-panda and fully load my x-racks (it's a work in progress), but so far it's been cake. I have everything on my tt patchpay so I can access any point on the x-desk/x-rack via the bay. I think that's super key for workflow purposes. clients love the look too.. always a conversation piece. ![]() oto |
