2 summing box at the same time?

Hi SlutZ! I was wondering...
…let's say a guy decided to upgrade his Apogee Ensemble + Dangerous Music D-Box setup…and want to go Apogee Symphony I/O (8analog I/O+8Opt I/O)
Let's say he plan to add another 8analog I/O card to go 16 I/O in the future…BUT
in the meanwhile what if he keeps the Ensemble and use it in standalone mode to add 8 I/O (and the 4pres) and go 16ch as well??
Now, that wouldn't be a problem, would it?

If that's not a problem…let's say he also want to go 500! and need a lunchbox or something…and for some strange reason decide to buy a Radial Workhorse to house some 500 pres and comps or whatever…

Now, would it be possible, or at least not too crazy, to use the summing options on both the WH and the D-box?

Something like: outs 1-8 from the Symphony to D-box sum in, than back to the Sympho (ins 6-7)
AND 1-8 outs from the Ensemble to the WorkHorse sum in, then back in the Sympho (ins 7-8)
Now I guess he should be able to monitor everything from the D-Box D/A…

What do you guys think? clever? stupid? not worth it?

Would it be better to forget about the WH and go API Lunchbox or 500VPR and keep summing to just 8ch?
