Exclamation 8 Ch (In&Out) XLR to Elco (Mitsubishi) Pin Out

Hi all.
I got a hold of 2 good quality 8 Ch (In & Out) XLR to Elco Snakes that were used for a Mitsubishi Machine. I'd like to cut off the Elco side and put 1/4" TRS instead (My patchbay is all TRS...).
What's the best way to go about this?
Thanks, Lior.

I'm not sure what advice you're looking for, other than the obvious, but I do have a tip - make sure that the individual lengths of cable going to the 1/4" TRS connectors are long enough, like at least two feet. It's annoying when you have most of the connectors plugged into the patch bay and you also want to temporarily connect some device that is sitting out of the rack, but the stubby little one-foot breakouts won't reach far enough to allow you to do both.

Longer breakouts also allow you to use the snake for other purposes later, like connecting to the various I/O on the backs of gear in the rack and running to a patchbay located in a different rack. You'll need longer breakouts to reach gear in both the top and bottom of the rack.

Thanks for the tip Dave.
I'm actually asking about the alco end...
What's the pin out? I'd like to cut off the elco end and put on 1/4" TRS.
The thing is, I don't know what's what on the Elco end.

If you can't find the pinout info it should only take a few minutes to use a multimeter to check continuity and determine which wires go to which XLRs.

Break out the multimeter.

I did this with a couple of ELCO to 1/4 trs snakes, takes time but it is worth it. Usually there is a pattern to the colors of the individual wires when you snip the ELCO.

Buy a box of switchcraft trs, soldering iron, and 3 beers. Takes an afternoon.

Learn from my mistake - make sure to put the shrink tubing on before you solder, that is before.
