Stolen Gear Alert, Dallas

My buddy Jason Isbel, formerly Drive By Truckers just had their van and trailer stolen getting ready to gig Dallas.. Here is the bulletin they just put out on facebook with a description of the vehicles.. Any help in recovery is appreciated Slutz

Quote:
Hey, Dallas folks, be on the lookout for our van and trailer. Somebody took off with it. It's a white Ford E-350 with a black single-axle trailer. The van had a tag on the front that read King of the Road, some stickers on the windows and the trailer was a black utility trailer with Camp-Out written on in the upper corner.

Heres a list of some of the gear as well.. Thanks guys

Also, Dallas folks, be on the lookout for any of our instruments in the pawn shops or on Craigslist. There was a vintage (1970) Fender Precision Bass (sunburst, worn), an old no-named 3/4 size upright bass, a Duesenburg gold-top guitar, a nord electro-2 w 73 keys, a small, red Hoehner accordian and a set of red-sparkle Gretsch drum-kit. The bass drum has art by Browan Lollar on it. There were also amps: A Sommatone Roaring 40, an Ampeg V4-BH (in a road case) an Ampeg 6x10 speaker cabinet and a Roland KC550. Please help us. Spread the word.

Indeed it would have Bama plates unless they already swapped them out

from Twitter:

Our stolen van is a 2006 E350 (white) with an Alabama tag. Trailer is a black Wells Cargo. Derogatory writing in the dirt on back window.

hopefully it's the derogatory writing on the back window that will give them away

"Trailer has a Texas tag. There's an awesome sticker of a wolf on the side van window. Calexico air freshener and lovely hula gal on dash."

to summarize the van description again:

2006 Ford E350, white, with an Alabama tag on the rear, and a "King of the Road" decorative tag on the front

Pulling a black Wells Cargo trailer with a Texas tag

Driver's window smashed out

Awesome sticker of a wolf on the side window

Hula gal on the dash

Derogatory writing in dirt on rear window, includes the word "hoochie"

Let's be careful out there...

I stuck this Guts. Anyway to get an itemized gear list posted in column form so people can easily see what is missing? Maybe some picks and serial numbers?

I hope all works out for your buddy.

James

This is why I have advised all touring bands, big and small to take gear security
very seriously.

One easy preventive measure is to pull the ignition coil wire after you've parked
backing to a solid masonry wall in a well lit location.

Advise hotel security to keep a special eye out on your vehicle or move it to
where security cameras can watch it.

If you own the vehicle, you can also have a hidden Kill Switch installed
on the ignition or on the fuel pump circuit if equipped with an electronic fuel pump.

There are organized gangs of gear thieves who deliberately prey on
unwary or over confident out of town bands, especially near known showcasing
clubs.
