Surround Speakers/Computer Monitors layout?

So I've been thinking more and more about going surround here for the films that I'm working on. I would like to have 5 matched, full range speakers, and I am thinking of upgrading from two 19" CRT's to either a 23" or 30" Apple flat screen. My only question now, is... where do I put a single monitor in relation to my center channel speaker????

In addition, I am thinking of getting a 42" HD Plasma (hopefully the cheaper the better), to preview the film on... any idea of where to put it so that it doesn't screw up the room acoustics and cause weird reflections? I'm guessing above the center channel, suspended from the ceiling. .

Any thoughts?

Video/computer monitor reflections are a dirty little secret, aren't they?

Whether it's one or two computer monitors, place it center at eye level so you don't kill your neck over the long term. Mount the center above that with R & L at or near the same height, all speakers angled toward the engineering position (a laser level works great to orient the speakers). It sounds like the video monitor will have to fly above the center.

10 degrees below eye level is the correct position to avoid neck stress
