london Studio owners. Jules needs April 19, 20 & 21 (2006) - got any free time?

Due to a studio diary goof (of my own creation) I am double booked out of my own studio!

While there is a big name produccer in my place, I am homeless!

Need to track drums,

Bass

Gtrs

VIOLA!

All live

So I am looking for a London studio within zones 1 / 2 / 3

At a special M8 rate circa £300

I need a little baby sitting..., I prefer not to 'drive PT' myself..

If you have Logic, thats OK if YOU are operating it (cause I haven't a clue)

Any system that can produce AIFF's or WAV's that I can import to PT later will be fine..

Dont want tape! tutt

PM or email me at jules AT gearslutz DOT com

Thanks!

Give Philip a call at Eastcote Studios and tell him your situation... He's a great guy and has helped me out of tight spots in the past.

It's an MCI console (modded with Jensens) - they have 24 i/o Protools HD, pultecs, 1178, Eventide, GML etc.... and an amazing mic cupboard. Great place and great vibe.

It's in Kensal Road - just off Ladbroke Grove.

Good Luck - they're always busy these days, but who knows!

You need to travel my boy!

Jules,

Got some downtime on those days, it would mean an easyjet trip to Newcastle and a 3 day travel lodge but you can have the main room for £250 a day.

Just incase it helps...

Peace

DD

yeah, tell us about the session

nice photos - high k&l factor on the board - now what's a K&L factor, you might ask?

i think i see your plan now, Jules. you are secretly trying to conquer all the studios on every continent. your gearlsutz flag will be displayed atop the many powerful vantage points of the world, and your strategically placed gs paraphernalia will forever be the embodiment of you ultimate achievement in world domination

BwaaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Desk was very Phatt, creamy, big with a smooth top end. V nice!

Did a load of backing tracks & additional drum takes that will all get cut together by the bands PT programmer guy at a later stage.

This was a custom build desk - for somewhere in Japan -

Hi Jules

It was great to have you as our first client and I hope you are happy with the results. We thought you got a really excellent drum sound.

Gearslutz played a big part in deciding what equipment to buy when we were setting up the studio so it seems appropriate you were the first to test it all out.

In fact, you are literally the first person to have used the desk since it was removed from Sony's studios in Tokyo a couple of years ago. Maybe we should have a Gearslutz plaque fixed on it to commemorate the occasion!

Robert

Yes very happy!

I think a Gearslutz.com pen is stuck in the music score stand guide rails! So that may serve as a permanent reminder!

I paid the guys a visit down there a week or so back (we share a tech and I fancied a nosy!) Seems a really nice place- but Jules... you didn't go for the 3M 16trk option??
That IS digital dedication! I know I'd never have resisted tracking to that and transfering to PT after!

I've spent tha last 7 years developing chops to record rock bands to PT + this whole album projet is PT based - there is no time to mess around with umpteen rolls of tape on this project.. they want multiple playlist / different versions of drum beats + there is a high track count..

If I were doing a trad indie band (my ususal forte) and live takes were the thing to do with em...I would have entertained the use of a 'hire reel' of 2" & transfer to PT.

Meanwhile the album project in my studio with producer John Fryer (NIN / HIM) is going well - our 18 year old intern Jake is in the hot seat today as regular freelance engineer Tom is busy this weekend...
