Toft ATB still on schedule?

Anyone heard whether or not the Pilot Program mixers are still scheduled to ship on or around April 15?
Haven't heard a peep out of them in a while. I'm also a little concerned that there hasn't been an update to their site in months. Weren't there some revisions made, like metering and a padded arm rest? If so, why am I still looking at high res pics of the old version on the site?
If there is a delay, does anyone know what issues are causing the delay?

Well, the 32 inputs has been made. Looks nice. Not totally done, but got the photo's today. I will try and get them up on our site tomorrow.

RoHS and WEEE compliance has been a bitch, small pain in the arse issues from vendors that delay things, but all is good. We will have to raise the price after the program. We can;t do it for the money we thought we could. There is just way too much quality built into this thing and that all costs.

If we cheapened it up with SMD components, cut the features, and skimped on the power supply, we could make the target. I do have to say that this console is way more than what people will expect when they get it in their hands.

So, those on the program just made money!!!! Yes, the wait is a bit more, but you made money, and when you get the console, you will understand just how well worth the wait was....Promise!

Good job jules . . . here we go gang . . . Lets try this again . . . Take 2 , e

Was wondering if you can get the master section in the centre of the board, or is that out of the question ? Also, any pics of the meter bridge or ideas on cost of the desk with new parts and meter bridge?

Cheers,

Cheers,
You can't quite get it in the center as everything while modular internally, is set in 8 way blocks. The only console you can do that on is the 32. If you want to move it around however, you can do it, you just have to take the entire console apart and reassemble it the way you want.

Interesting! So does this mean you can arrange your console in any configuration in 8-channel blocks? For example the 24 channel can be with the master section all the way to the right or you can move it so it's 16 CH/master/8 CH? And does this mean you can put the master section in the center of a 16 channel console : 8 CH/master/8 CH ?

Cool , I guess I should have more clearly stated the 32 version . . . what 16 and 24 desk . I guess then the other question is how out of the question is a 48 channel version? a 16 with the master in the middle could look pretty cool tho .

Hey Dave,

Each 8 way section has its own rear connector panel. so you can put any 8 way module and its rear panel anywhere you want as far as I know. The only version we move it is on the 32, so you get 24 inputs, the master section, and then another 8 inputs, but it could be 16 inputs, mater section and then 16 inputs. All depends on how you want it.

Of course to do it, the entire console will have to come apart, but at least with a Toft Audio, you can do that! I will check with Malcolm to be sure, but it can be done as far as I remember. I took one apart!

The only issue here is when it is taken apart, there could be damage done if it is not done correctly. That would of course void the warranty if it was found that any damage resulted from doing this.

For us, it should not be a big deal, but we have to abide by the legal ease. Failuers or other issues will be handled with module swaps. Extender cards will be available so the modules can be fixed on site.

Well, I have not given it much thought. We can't have the factory doing all kinds of different versions. We could special order one that way, but that takes time. It also would take us about 1.5 hours to do.

Nothing I hate worse than to pull apart a fresh built console and re-assemble it. So, there is no answer right now to you question, but we might consider it with a reconfiguration charge.

Custom configs are probably too much to ask, but maybe you could do what some other companies do - include some info in the manual on how to do this, along with a big fat fine print about how it should only be done by qualified personel quack quack quack. That way, you don't add chaos to your production floor reconfiguring gear, customers who are comfortable doing this kind of work have the info they need, and you're off the hook if someone tries it themselves and screws it up.

so if the 32channel can be customized, will the 16 channel be upgradeble to 32 on the long term if the front wood frame gets replaced to widen it up? would be cool, i could start out with the 16 untill im ready for an upgrade, or would i have to get a full 32 channel at that time? anyway im still excited as hell for the 16 channel, :-)

thanks
