Vintage Gear PICTURES!

Ok, I'm needing to see some more gear-porn! Especially vintage set-ups and old gear. I'll start. I love my Gates preamps. I have two more racked up. LET'S SEE IT PEOPLE!

Fairchild mono tube cutting amp with EQ.

Early 50's mastering behemoth.

BTW, willing to trade for compressors like Retro Sta level pair or CL1b pair.

Hey toneguru is that an Inward Connections preamp console as you picture? If so, how do you like it? I was looking at one a while back. Really sexy looking!

My Gates Biamote that I rebuilt after some previous owners had "fixed" it. I removed the two passive mixing stages in the front and made it a one-channel pre. I'm considering making one gain stage switchable since there's SO much gain, but haven't done that yet.

Cheers,

That is a pic of an old UA sidecar with six 610 preamps.

When I moved up to San Fran I had to let stuff go and that 610 sidecar was the hardest along with my Fender Strat that I had since 1978.

You wouldn't happen to have any of those dial plates around that were on that? I am really looking for some more.

WOW! Even better! I would love to work on a project with one of those. Sucks that you had to sell it. It kind of looks like a homemade console. Is it? Looks great though. At least you have good pictures of it.

This is nowhere near as good as what's been posted already, but this is my Roland Space Echo that I picked up not long ago.

It came to me in working condition and sounds wonderful. I haven't even cleaned the tape heads yet.

Any cool tips or tricks you wouldn't mind sharing? Granted it's a pretty straight forward unit, but maybe you've found some really interesting ways to use it.

My Rare M-49 Prototype

This is my NWDR M-49 prototype.

"From the pictures you sent it would be one of the NWDR (North West German Broadcast) pre-serial prototypes of M49, from 1950/1951. That explains the B-M49 designation, and the serial number. Presumably it was first fitted with MSC2 tube, with larger diameter, later exchanged with the AC701 tube.

Best regards,
Martin Schneider / Neumann Mic. Development"
