2-channel line amps for OTB mix processing

Without getting into a debate about ITB vs. OTB mixing, can anyone here recommend some great sounding 2-channel line amps (or similar devices) that I can run my mixes through to impart some sonic mojo and euphonic delight? Something with big fat transformers would be grande. I'm interested in hearing any and all suggestions and they don't have to be new pro-audio marketed products either. I'm handy with a soldering iron and would be happy to piece something together from scavenged parts if someone could point me in the right direction.

thanks,
Brad

There's a small company called Davisound out there. Their TB-2 compressor incorporates line amps and the box is a seriously excellent (and reasonably priced) piece of audio equipment. Check 'em out... If you fish around, you'll probably see that their gear is pretty well regarded.
