I think there are updates coming for that whole range of plugins from them, I'm looking forward to.

Regarding the Radial Tank Driver;

It sounds quite lovely, the 'Shimmer' and 'Boom' sound good too, perhaps brings out a lot of hiss if present, other wise I don't have much else to compare it too, lots of fun none the less.

I bought a BX25 after seeing this! wow ....waiting for it to arrive

http://youtu.be/Y0c6qXYea6s

I have a Master Room XL-305 that's really great too. The space echo springs are fun but definitely nothing like the Master Room

BX20 and BX25 are like crossbreed of plate and (standard) spring reverbs .

There is one BX20 for sale in Prague for ~500eur (I'm not the seller), so depending on how far are you, it could be a good deal for you.

BX20 for sale

I bought my bx25 for 500euro and haven't regreted it for a single while. Several years ago I saw BX20 for as low as 300eur and maybe you can find one for free somewhere, but yes 500eur is reasonable if it is in a good condition.

Can't recommend to use regular post service for shipping. These things have pretty fragile structures inside and if you break something, there is big chance you won't be able to repair it in satisfying way or maybe at all. The coils are unavailable as spares, so when one of them breaks, you're ...

But if you make a trip with car big enough to keep it upright and you take all the precautions to keep coils and other parts secured. Then it's no problem.

I guess you'll find one closer to you, perhaps even BX25 which is smaller and has even longer springs.

An old Fostex 3180 will do the trick and won't be too noisy. And anyway, nothing a decent expander can't fix.

The Klark Teknik, I think it was the DN50, sounds quite nice but needs space on top as it will pick up hum like its life depends on it...

They're both very nice Reggae/60's flavoured spring revs, the Fostex is maybe more rootsy / Reggae and the KT is smoother and can actually be used on vocals etc.

I recently picked up a Biamp SR 240. It's a dual mono unit with balanced inputs and a built in limiter / EQ section. This thing sounds great, especially considering the price I paid. You do have to watch how hard you drive the reverb to avoid too much noise but once you get the hang of it, you can get some great sounds from it. Works well on any instrument (edit: haven't tried it on drums yet) and vocals.

I have had an AKG BX 10 for 25 years....Some experiences...FIRST: The unit is true stereo (or linkable for a mono longer hang time). I have had great success sending to the BX10 in stereo & a digital verb from the same sends ---different returns in stereo. The use was background vocals and L/R placement of individual voices working w/ the stereo verb has been very useful (same for horn section). The BX 10 has limited highs, but solid lo/mids (no grain) and the judicious use of even a PA grade digital can help the top.
I use an old DBX noise reduction unit as you would on a 2 trk recorder encode in/decode out for the BX10 (it is has a noise floor). I use a self made 4 X 8 tube driven plate as the lead vox verb and NOT having to dump everything into it is good !!! The BX 10 is a great unit...Also try the true stereo feature for delay fed lead guitar ambience (Coliseum sounding solos)...

Just did a recording/mixing session where the whole band (funk/soul 8 piece) went through a Master Room XL-305 and it is niiiiice. Smooth, no s. No links to tracks yet, tho. Currently mastering.

I have an Intersound RV-100. It's good on guitar, horns, and B3 organ. No good on vocals. I plan on upgrading the reverb tank from the 4 style to the 9 style, if I can match the impedance.

Dap Tone records uses an Orban. So that's pretty sweet.

I use mostly BX20 and Roland Space echo´s reverb. By the way, how do you tune the BX20?

Hardware is great but ITB stuff has gotten really good. I used a Softube spring for a kind of period piece vibe song on guitars (a lot of it on guitars) and vocals, and it was extremely cool. SkNote also has more modern sounding spring that is really good and super inexpensive (as are all of their great plugins!). The other bonus with the plugin is zero noise..........

if you want it as a main studio reverb and not just for guitars I'd recommend the Roland RV-800 - it's from the late 70'ies studio series (just as the PH-830 phaser and the Dimension D).... great for everything (yes even drums), and wonderful for vocals .... not easy to find one though.
another good one is the Tube Works real tube reverb, one of the very few tube spring reverbs, and this has 2 full size accutronics spring tanks in it. grainier than the Roland , but in a good way, and very flexible due to a 3 band eq on each channel ...

The Demeter is serious analog niceness...deep, smooth, massive air/space when used in stereo.

After scouring GS and the innerwebs, I can't really find a bad review on Zerotronics reverbs. Sure would love to hear some tracks of them...with real instruments & vocals.

I love my furman rv1 but it is noisy. Still worth it since it gives you such a classic sound. Slamming drums is fun with the limiter section. Everything sounds more authentic through this thing! Great for dub and you can get some extreme effects cranking the eq.

Does anyone use stero spring to create a mono to stero effect? Am i missing out by only having a mono reverb?
