Thread Starter | What to get, what to get (help me round out my 500 rack)
Looking to add a pair of pre's to complete my 500 rack. Whether they be the a stereo pair or not, I don't know. I was thinking a pair of 512C's but figured I'd get some opinions. Here's what I have now: Great River MP-500NV x 2 BAE 312A x 2 Buzz Elixir I'm just a small-time guy, doing this stuff for fun and as a hobby with friends so this will be all the pre's I need. I also have 4 channels on my RME UFX and 1 channel of Avalon 737 in the works. I mainly record rock, metal, and some country. I'm still working on my mic locker but I have the typical stuff as far as dynamics go. Condensers are some KM184's, a Soundelux U195, and a U87ai in the pipeline.

A pair of Vintech 573's or APA Juggernauts would round out your selection. The Juggernauts have more versatility all around, and the Vintechs are very Neve like and colored (these are very different from the Great River IME).
