What batter heads do you like for mostly rock/country/pop on toms?

depends on the drums, but for my kit I use clear Remo Emperors (2 ply) on the toms. I used to use Evans G2's, but those things would sound good for about a week then turn flabby. The Remo's sound good all the time. My maple kit has a lot of attack so the Emperors mellow it out a bit. I just use what I am used to. If it aint broke....................

With someone who's not a complete basher, I've had best results with Remo coated ambassadors on top and clear diplomats on the bottom. I've tried Acquarian and Evans, and none have recorded as well on so many drum kits as the Remo heads...

the thing that's important with Remo heads is to get the "Artist Series" from a pro shop like Tour Supply. They have the large (1 1/2" or so) Remo logo on them. They are different from the ones you get at the local GC or whatever, and it makes a huge difference!

Cheers

Another vote for clear Remo Emporers on tom tops (with clear Ambassadors on the bottoms) Tuned fairly low and hit fairly hard with fairly heavy sticks!

ive allways been parshall to the evens g2 coated with the smooth finish. they seemed to allways be the right sound. they dont sacrifice tone or depth for attack. i have a regular drummer in the studio that allways uses them and iam allways floored, (no pun entended) by how good his toms sound. he plays a beech custum absolute for what its worth.
