E-Cue... is the gold edition only for hip hop crews?... is it their 'bling Bling' version?... when you wna abuy one do you have to front up with all your gold around your neck like Charles Atlas to prove your really a hip hop dude/chic?

Cheers
Wiggy

More of a field recording peice than something for the studio,, but damn--- this peice is waterproof!

A matrix of 2,048 touch-sensing LEDs -- 32 lines by 64 rows -- covers the Grapher, the Acxel Resynthesizer's user interface!!! Amazing for 1988. This peice also does crazy neural resynthesis stuff, sounds pretty good actually - they only cost an arm and a leg.

I think Buchla gear has the coolest look ever in the world of modulars.

Manley kit looks great, but if you're going to do it, you might as well do it properly...

The Massive Passive is NICE. Especially the Gold-ed. I'd sure go all the way if (or should I say when) I'm having the Massive

The AATON is funky. Brad's amp is an interesting looking design.

I love the DW Fearn , people rave about the red Focusrites but they look good only at a distance to me.

The Manley mixer......thumbsup

My faverave best-looking gear here is a racked pair of LA-3A's. I was refurbing them and talking with Dave at JBL about parts when I asked if they happened to have any spare front panels. He dug around a bit for me and it turned out they had six on hand, left over from the 1970's. I bought a pair @ 25.56 each, in bags that clearly hadn't been opened since the Ford administration. My units were pretty damn clean to start with: now they look factory-fresh.

I understand an eBay speculator bought up the rest a few days later.

Brad, I hate you. Is that an x150? Read about them not that long ago, what speakers are you pleasuring with it?

I really like the look of the Wunderbar, Buchla Series 200, and Elysia Alpha.

Sounds good too.

All things Shadow Hills, people always ask about the GAMA8 we have when they come in the control room. Played with their mastering comp once and wanted one almost just based on looks.

I always thought the federal compressor looks awesome even though it's so simple.

That Buchla stuff looks insane!

I just love how sleek an 1176 is... I don't know why - since it's a fairly simple-looking, overall. I just kinda grew up with that look, and everything in my life is referenced to it. A VOX AC30 has also always had that effect on me.

In terms of straight-up cool-looking: the more knobs/lights/switches, the better

The mixcubes! They are so shinny and buttery looking. Reminds me of cake frosting.
