ideas for mods for tascam dm-4800

now I found out about one certain one and one I sent a pm to a fellow gearslutz here

1.) — 2Seemy: Breathe new life into your Home Studio —
this allows you to view the small screen on the mixer on a vga monitor or a lcd via a converter cord yey yeah!!!

2.)changing 4580 opamps in the tascam DM-4800
chaing opamps in the tascam
"tascam uses the same AKM converters that most of the high-end uses... the weak point is the analog that feeds them... they use the 4580 opamps and can be relaced with some minor difficulty"
posted by fellow gearslut

this one right here is really interesting to me... I would love to get schematics on how to do this so I can get someone to switch them out for superior ones

looking for mods that will improve performance of the tascam DM-4800 plan on keeping this board for at least 5-10 years depending on stabliness of drivers for windows OS in the future.. but windows 7 64bit should be here for 2-5 year right lol....(hopefully) and I think tascam will keep a driver that will work for say Window 8??? or whatever they will call it...

thinking about shooting black lion a email

The 2seemy link is dead. Is this VGA out mod still available. I'm thinking about getting a DM4800.

Here a mod thats working for me:

1. Buy a ton of Neve(not AMS)/BAE preamps (1084's, 1028's, 1073's) some API and some sweet outboard EQ and compressors.

2. DON'T use the line in but the insert in -totally different sound. This by passes the amps and goes directly to the converters.
