suggestions for reverb for drums !!! I have a fairly small tracking room for drums but it sounds very good despite its 9x18 with a 8' ceiling. I'm trying to get that R&B, hip hop drum sound so get a nice close mic sound and looking for a reverb where i can add some artificial room/space to the drums. Any suggestions ?? I have altiverb and reverb one. ALtiverb is not bad and i find rev one sounding way too unatural. How about the Rumour, KSP8 or some TC or Lex ??? Thanks

Why not a couple of room mics, and smash them with compression.

Actually, to acheive that really big room sound, i put a mic in another room ( bathroom, garage ) and it's great. The only drag is that i need to open the drum booth's door and i won't be able to record late because of the noise. Personally, i've nerver found a reverb that like as substitute but hey i'm open to suggestions.

I usually think of those sounds as being extremely dry. This may sound a little crazy, but try delay instead of reverb. I've got a preset that i made, I don't remember the times, but short, different L/R, high end rolled of, a little feedback. It just ptus a little air around everything and helps it soudn mixed rather than raw. It took me a long time to figure out, but I saw Michael Brauer do a mix that had no reverb anywhere and was as majestic as one of his Coldplay mixes.
