Larc cable specs for use with a Lexicon Lr4 framelink????

I know the Lr4 seems a pretty intuitive router but i want to know if the Larc cables require certain specifications.
You see, on the 480L , the Larc remote is self powered by the larc cable. On the 300, the Larc remote needs to be powered separatly...Now what happens if you want to use the Lr4 Framelink in the middle?

IMHO
The 300M/L Larc was always separate beast to the 224, 224X 224XL & 480L, Larc's. Thus as I understood it, the 300L Larc (In LR4 Frame-link could control all Parameters & Registers for the above Units & multiple 300's (W/ 300 Larc Software), it all seemed to go south after the 960 w/ new Larc!

Also maybe a fellow GS/Lex Boffin member could explain this:

Why on earth is the PCM81 still supported in 2011 - when units like the 300M/L with fabulous architecture, I.E 20 bit A/D/D/A & SMPTE Time Code, DYNAMIC MIDI, along with Great Algos, (The unit itself was a Digital format converter of high quality before 24 bit became de-facto) be just dumped when their was so much room to move in S/ware updates for the Lexicon 300 series - And they just left it sitting flat!

Sure..... They kept the 480L on Life support for as long as could be, (Lovely Unit & Unique sound) though to keep the PCM 81 over the 300/M/L - I'll never get that one!
To me the 92 & 96 Just don't have the same...."Feel" in the Box let alone the Plug In's, they sound sterile to the max!
Byte.
