| Gear addict | Korg Triton Rack
I recently sold my triton keyboard to buy the rack instead. But before I do I was wondering if anybody knew if something new from korg was coming out to replace the triton rack? It's been a while since it came out and I don't want to buy it if there will be something to replace it soon.

dont waste your money on korg, theyre over priced, haha, get a motif, they at least have good sounds and dont charge ya an arm and a leg to endorse everyone in world to play there stuff...my 2 cents ![]() i do however own 1 korg thing, which i think is pretty cool and no one else has anything like it...the kaoss pad |

| I don't totally agree.
I have both the triton and the motif. Triton has deeper sounds, i.e, fatter. Motif has cleaner sounds. They are both incredible, and, with work, you could probably get really fat sounds out of the Motif, and really clean sounds out of the Triton. How's that for ambivalence.... If you're recording ONLY, you may want to travel over to the computer forum and look at the various softsynths. |

Its a cool piece nonetheless...you can stick like 8 sound cards plus a moss board plus scsi and sample ram in it, etc. Wont be worthless anytime soon. | |

I really like the sounds in the newer Triton Extreme. However, I've heard of no rack version being released yet. FWIW keep in mind that the Triton rack more closely resembles the sound engine of the Triton LE. How would you rate the Roland Fantom next to the Korg and Motif?

I can imagine korg releasing a triton rack extreme, or something along those lines..already expanded and with USB connectivity, storage card slot (floppies, ew), and other up to date goodies...but not this year. The fantom (to me) is a more middle of the road sounding synth. Covers a lot of the same ground as the triton and the motif, but not to the extremes. The triton excells at lush pads and arpeggios while the motif is great for realistic sounds like pianos and guitars, etc. The roland goes right down the middle, and would probably be my pick if I had to own just one.
