Gtp8 and aurora 16 configuration

I am still relatively new to the whole seperattion of the all inclusive audio interface.

I have gtp8 going into my Aurora.

Does anybody know how to configure it to get the most out of both units (esp. Gtp8) in regards to headroom and noisefloor ratio?

I realize my aurora 16 is not the VT edition so does that mean how hot I record is my only way of affecting these issues?

I want to be able to use the gtp8 to it's full potential.

Btw I am running a VTB mic through it 90% of the time. (which has a -15 pad)

The Lynx is calibrated so that -16 dBfs = 0dBvu, so you want your inputs meters to average that. You can monitor the levels hitting the converter in the Lynx mixer or your DAW. You can also choose hte 70 dB meetr level range in your Lynx mixer, and it will set "0" as equal to 0 dBvu
