Thread Starter | Need to master one song and know how it was done
I'm currently finishing up on a 10 song album that is completely "trio" music, i.e. various nylon string guitars playing, sometimes bongo, conga, timbales and maracas accompany the guitars and of course a male vocal. It's very typical music here in Puerto Rico. Well, the thing is I want to "master" the songs so he can go ahead and make copies, labeling, etc. Being that all the songs are very, very identical, not only beacuse of the similar style throughout, but also because we recorded the percussion and voice the same (same mics, recorded one instrument at a time for all songs, then moved to the next song, same effects, etc...) and although the guitars were recorded at another studio, they sound the same in volume, effects, etc, I'm really looking for someone who can master one of the songs using what I have or similar (ProTools Le plugs, Waves Gold Bundle, PSP Vintage Warmer, URS N12) and letting me know how it was done so I can apply the same process throughout the rest of the other songs, tweaking here and there where necessary. Of course, I will pay for mastering thi sone song and for the knowledge. Any ideas? As of now, the songs are sounding really good, just want the extra bite to make them sound excellent.

| Here's Some Ideas...
Visit the Sound On Sound magazine website. Type in "mastering" in the search engine, and scroll until you see "Audio Mastering In Your Computer". Some articles are too new to see online without a subscription, but there are many useful articles available for free.
