Thread Starter | UA 610 MkII problem
Hello... Im little bit frustrated right now in the studio, and maybe someone could help me out. Its about the inputs and outputs of the MkII. I run it in and out of Apogee Ensemble soundcard, and have both out´s and in´s on +4 balanced as it suppose to be. And then i run a test oscillator 0 db from Logic Pro, and then I/O utility in Logic to get it in MkII. I put the gain so i have exactly the level at 0 point on the MkII´s meter and out is also 0. then everything is find. I get back a signal to Logic that is -14db. ( it would be -12 ), and thats alright. The routing is working good. But the problem comes when a have an mikrofon and recording a test tone throu the mik and are at 0 on the meter on the MkII, the it suppose to be -14 in logic, but i get to hot signal in like -3. so i got to HOT signal in from the preamp. Strange. And there is same problem eather i have the compressor off or on, and if its on i have the outsputs also on zero. If any of you have tried to calibrate or have any understanding of this please tell....) Maybe the meter is just an peak meter on the output signal. I dont know....???? Bless / thomas |
