hy guys, can someone give me the formula for calculating the resonant frequency of a for example speaker of 15 cm diameter? Thanks! |

As a designer of speakers (leonspeakers.com - free plug), one of the best little tools you can get is this little thing from Parts Express called a WT3 (woofer tester) - it's about 100 bucks and in two seconds it will give you an impedance sweep of your driver. Where the phase inverts and the impedance is lowest (Zmin) is your fs. Beware: open air free resonance is not the same as in-cab. Moreover resonance of the system will depend greatly on the environment (crossover, driver, baffle, cabinet, room). |
