What plugs to get?

So here's my list...

ValhallaShimmer/Room ($50 a piece)
Waves musicians 2 bundle ($120 but I can probably snag it off ebay for 80)
Focusrite Midnight bundle ($99 can probably snag off ebay for 70)
Slate VCC ($250)
Massey DRT/L2007 ($69 a piece)
McDSP Project Studio LE ($89)

I'm thinkin I may need to hold off on the VCC for a bit until the RTAS
stuff comes out anyway so i don't need to wrap.

That being said, which ones should be knocked off for whatever reason?

I'm planning on spending between 150-200. I know I'm at least getting
shimmer/room...Just can't really decide which others to go with...The midnight bundle interests me unless someone suggests it's craptacular and I've heard nothing but good about McDSP so I'd be willin to bite the bullet.

bump.

I'm actually pretty interested in the midnight bundle if anyone has it? Also McDSP (which also comes with more stuff for my dollar)

I think the Waves Musician 2 bundle is a great deal.

It is so useful and very affordable -- you can mix a whole record just with these plugs plus your reverb of choice and the free stuff out there.

Ren compressor - essential
Ren vox - vocal tuned compressor - essential, easy to use
Ren EQ - good EQ
Ren doubler - not bad, useful
Super Tap - awesome, versatile

Again I think this is such a good deal because Waves wants to get you hooked on their stuff. Plus it is industry standard stuff you will see in any studio.

You will need an iLok. People complain about Waves all the time with their policies etc -- myself included, though they have improved this past year -- but even if you need to pay for upgrades they are very affordable with this bundle.

If you switch DAWs you will still have the plugs, they work cross platform.

yeah I have wanted to try these out too but i seem to remember them not installing correctly -- i think they are abandoned and way out of date -- can you run them on new DAWs?

Oh I'm completely familiar with all the plugs in the musicians bundle which is why I want it...I was originally thinking the silver bundle but
I've got sonalksis stereo tools so I dont need PAZ. Although I do enjoy the S1 when called for...unless someone can recommend me a free VST/RTAS that'll do the
same imaging things S1 will.

I'm most curious about the McDSP/Midnight bundles...dunno which one
I should go for! If I can't decide I suppose I'll just go with the musicians bundle...I do enjoy my Rcomp/EQ on certain things otherwise I pretty much use the CLA compressors.

PC/PT9. Sorry, I should've been a wee bit more specific :p.

Thanks for the link! Any particular one of those that I should check out?

McDsp. I use the G Channel in every project. Softube and Sound Toys are good too. VCC is a must.

I use RComp a lot and Supertap on my vox.

Tell you what, though....I get huge use from stock Digi stuff. Digi3 EQ is all over my stuff and I love what their BF76 does for drums and bass.

Well the problem with that is that the G Channel doesn't come in the
McDSP LE bundle :/ just the analog channel. VCC will probably happen
for me once the RTAS version and all these bugs I'm reading about are
a little more fixed. So that would probably be the month after.

Is the Analog channel from McDSP just as good as the G Channel?

See, I never liked the BF76 plug. I never thought it sounded good lol. CLA...that's a different story :P.

I use the digi EQs from time to time but I'd like to have at least one really good GEQ with a wee bit of color which is
why part of me is leaning towards the musicians bundle...I don't particularly want to pay 150 for a single plug lik the REQ lol.
