TOTO Tambu - How do you feel about the tone/eq

I know that many use it as a reference when mixing/mastering - and so do I - now for the first time.

Love the record and have always liked the sound of it.

Right now mastering the EP of my own band. Referencing to the TAMBU -record while mastering.

I'm starting to get pretty close eq-wise - but tambu still feels a bit brighter.

But I've come to a point where I don't wanna push my songs anymore - even though tambu is still a little clearer/brighter.

Do anyone here know the tambu record better? is it a little on the bright side?

I haven't been able to listen to it on many speakers so I really can't decide

I LOVE the tone and sound of that CD, Elliot Schneider was the engineer
with Simon Phillips, i know that they cut a lot of 400-500 EQ range in the overall
mix.

I love that CD, Elliot Scheiner did an amazing job. I don't feel its too bright, it just sounds expensive.
