gearslutz is a great community so I hope that this helps give back by keeping it in the family. I am looking for an assistant engineer. This is a salaried position in mid-town New York City. I will disclose salary to the right candidates - it is fair by market standards. I am looking for a man or woman who is looking for a career in audio. This position has upward mobility based on performance. I prefer a liberal arts background from a good college as opposed to a technical degree - this is largely based on the work we do. The right candidate must be neat, pay extreme attention to detail, be on time, courteous, hard working, passionate about all audio and considerate of the position and the studio. After hours use is a privlige, not a right. We use pro tools exclusively, also due to our clients, and work on a diverse number of projects including TV, VO, Scoring and mixing music, audio books, and other projects. I am looking for someone who wants to join a team, mercenaries need not apply. We have a beautiful space in mid town and many people consider this opportunity to be a rare one. you will be working with the chief engineer directly. long hours do happen. I figured this forum was worth a shot. soldering, electrical engineering and IT skills are pluses which will be reflected in your compensation and responsibilities. I hope you take this in the right way but individuals who feel entitled please do not apply. you will need to work hard, earn trust, build your skill set and follow instructions. please post or pm me. |

If only I was still there, I'd snag it now. Anyone looking for that here?

I respect Michael and I understand his reason. I am not Michael, while my music is heard all over the world I have not mixed platinum records, yet :-). I am paying because I believe in paying people for work and we have a lot of work to do, and I want someone who wants to build a future at the studio.

Just one more thing - I have already received a bunch of private messages. I will review all applicants, but I will only contact those who seem to be a good fit. Please do not take it personally if you are not contacted, and I appreciate all the effort and time it takes to compose a message to me and I am sure that if this position does not work out for you, another one will.

Cute Fletcher! I didn't mean your type of mercenary :-) You, I would hire in a minute - except I don't know if I could take the straight talk |
