Thread Starter | analog recording Would it be possible to run 4 Revox B77 MKII 15ips (1/4 " tape) (or any similar spec machines) simultaniously into a digital desk/lap top set up and create the equivalent to a 1" eight track? Seems 1" eight track is almost impossible to find in UK any advice/theories be welcome thanks. . . |

| as long as you record everything live off the repro heads, it'll work just fine. otherwise you have sync issues, but you probably know all that. it won't be the equivalent of 1" 8-track though, the electronics are not the same and the sound won't be as beefy. yes, the track width is equivalent, but those 1" and 2" machines have a degree of mojo that the 1/4" machines don't. which is not to say 1/4" lacks mojo, it has mojo in spades. just not quite as much as the big reels. gregoire del ubik |
