hi all first time to the site . after a week or so of looking about i can see this is a very active site . i have a couple of questions to ask u guys . first i have been useing a drawmer ds221 compressor for the past while now . i turned it on today and it never worked . so now i need a new compressor i am not sure what to go for as i have not looked for a good compressor before . i have a £500 notes to spend on one . i am not looking for a new one but something second hand as i will get more for my cash if i get a second hand unit . do u guys have anything in mind . i am looking for something half decent for £500 pounds . what do u guys think is the best for my cash i dont have a clue what to get . some help would be good a friend said the dbx 160 or something not sure . please help as i need a new compressor

cheers for reading

some folks like the RNC (clean)
some like the RNLA (not so clean)
some hate those

dbx 160 is nice
nice on percussion, not on everything IMHO
I like my Kultube. ("swiss" army knife)
you can save a little for the 1968 (character)
or a workhorse BSS 402 (control)
one of those four would seem a good choice to me..

you'll need more than one.

Around here money is kinda tight so we try to fix anyting broken if at all possible. What's the issue with the drawmer? Did it go up in flames or just not come on.? If it still physically intact and you're lucky it could be something easy like bad power, bad power chord, fuse etc. Slightly less easy is power supply problem. Got anybody around that can give it a once over? May be worth the trouble before you toss it.

You may find the power cord for your kettle fits the compressor.. Or change a fuse in the plug!
