standalone eq or with pre, what do you think it is the t#ts?

I like the feedback of Tanner's gtq2 the GR 2nv also sweet!
I am wondering should I really be stressed weighing the eq with the pre or just buy the eq seperate, like GR or other brands?

Can a seperate EQ function well with these well know pre's into DAW -ptle?
Would the EQ be used after the mic pre going to the DAW ? Could the EQ be used while mixing in DAW?

Thanks again

Depending on your budget, I would suggest that you evaluate the two as their own entities. Get a mic pre that suits your sense of aesthetic and an equalizer that compleiments that pre. If they both happen to come in the same box that's wonderful... if they come in different boxes then they come in different boxes.

Eventually the goal is to have a bunch of different pre's, EQ's and compressors from which you may choose the appropriate unit that will best compliment the sound on which you're working.

Best of luck with the search.

thanks Fletcher. I guess I am want the simplest route, to make sure the pre and eq are in the same box for t$ts, otherwise sounds like compatiblity issues.
