Soundcraft 800b

Does anyone have any experience with this board? Is there any way to connect the line input of the 8017 module? I was trying to hook up a tape machine to the board the other day and couldn't get it working. Flipping through the manual, I read that the line input is disconnected by default.

Soundcraft 800B

I have a 800B-24 I have used for years, my unit has the theatre input modules.

Yea, the manual says those inputs are disconnected....

I am sure there is a way to modify this up to use it for line inputs. Do you have the line in, line out, send, and return 1/4 inch jacks on your jack panel in the back..????

I am a Soundcraft Authorized servicer, I can probably tell you where to hook the jacks up to, do you have good soldering skills..?????

@Gtr_Mann

Hi,

I also use an 800b with the standard input 8011. For a long time I've been searching for the theatre inputs, and now I read that you have such a board. Some time ago I started to add the input channel meters to the 8011, but when I connect them as shown in the circuit diagram I have troubles with some noise on the bus. I think there must be a mistake at the plans. Is it possible for you to check the wiring of the LED meter at the module?

Thanks in advance
Christian

Soundcraft 800B

When you say you are adding the input channel metering, are you are copying the LED meter circuit like in the Theatre channels..???

I have never seen the Theatre channels for sale....

When I went out to California to the JBL and Soundcraft training, I mentioned to the head Soundcraft tech that I had the Theatre modules and he didn't know what they were. I told him they had a 9 segment LED display, and he told me there were no 800B channels with a display at all. I had to get him to pull the service manual and show him the channels in the manual. Apparently these channels are very rare...

Yes, you're right, these channels are extremely rare.

Yes, I copied the LED meter circuit from the manual, but I have a problem to connect them to the rest of the circuit. The manual shows something unclear in the connection of the audio source. So is it possible for you tho correct it and demonstrate the right connection of the meter?

Thanks in advance
Christian

PS: In Portugal someone sales an 32/8/2 800b with theatre inputs …

Need 6 8011 input modules

Hey everyone, I have 2 800B consoles. 1 has all 32 8020 input modules and the other has 26 8011 input modules.

I need 6 more 8011 if anyone can help me out or knows where some may be for sale. I'd hate to buy a whole console again just for the input modules.

Thanks!

Hi bsconz,

I have 6 8011 modules for you, but there are two problems:

– at first they need some reconditioning,
– second: I'm living in Germany, so the shipping costs to your country could be expensive.

If you are interested, feel free to contact me.
Christian

By the way: what kind of modules are the 8020?
