16 channel d/a recommendation?

Could anyone recommend a method of getting quality 16 channels of D/A for the purpose of analogue summing at a price point below an apogee da-16x ??

Have a look at Lynx Aurora 16. Its price is just a little bit lower than Apogee but in fact it's half price because you get 16 in and out

I think the Soundscape IBox48 is unbeatable. Sounds cool and has a lot of features.

You can choose between analog + tdif or adat or aes/ebu.

It's 24 channels of 24bit 96KHz AD and DA for around 1700.-€

Yeah...+1 on this. Loving my Auroras.

The converters in RME gear get a pretty bad rap in here... but for the price point they are really nice. If that falls into budget... you would most likely really like those as well.

yea it is...
do you need a digi HD connection?

i use 2/3rds of the iBox 48-AA over the two in / two out ADAT lightpipe ports on an RME Fireface. Once we see an HDSP9652 that is PCI-Express, i'll probably move to that. The Sydec converters are noticably better than RME. Wider, Rounder, Deeper.

Creamware A16 Ultra, best bang for the buck / good sounding box around. Can be run in ADAT / SMUX or via their own proprietay "Z-Link" mode at 96k/24 bit all 16 channels full duplex.

Apogee D/A 16. Mixes coming out of these boxes sound BIG.
