Painting mic grilles

I want my shure wireless grill to be black. Is spray paint okay? Of course i know to remove the grill from the mic components... Is there a certain kind of paint to use?

Any auto grade paint really works. Just be sure to pay attention to the mics earth precautions. My sm58 has an earthed grille

Always a good idea to thoroughly clean whatever you are trying to paint first, some good soap and water, and rinsed well, dried thoroughly. Primer is a good idea too if you'd like it to last longer.
